＂China Development Report＂
China Development Report 2011/12: Changes of Demographic Conditions and Resulting Policy Adjustment was released on October 26, 2012. Based on the 6th National Census, the report records the most updated integrated research results of China’s changing demographic conditions and the adjustment of demographic policies. CDRF’s research team takes two years to prepare 14 background reports and organizes several workshops and field investigations, based on which the final report finally came out. The report proposes a new demographic policy that advocates free but moderate birth, quality first and all-around demographic development. It also puts forward specific proposal to gradually adjust the family planning policy. The report gives a detailed analysis of changing demographic conditions in China from the perspectives of education, health, employment, pension, urbanization, women and children development, and family capacity building and provides policy recommendations to deepen demographic reform.
In 2014, the English version of the report was published by Routledge in UK.
The theme of "China Development Report 2010" is "New Urbanization in China: For a People-Centered Strategy", which endeavors an in-depth research into opportunities and challenges facing China's urbanization, and put forth corresponding policy suggestions. In October, 2010, the Report was published by People's Publishing House and released in Beijing and Shanghai respectively.
In 2012, the English version of the report was published by Routledge in UK.
The year 2008 saw CDRF setting "Building the Developmental Social Welfare System for All" as the theme for the annual report, which elaborates on the overall goal, principles, framework, and concrete policy recommendations on establishing a new social welfare system in the future for the whole country. Based on solid research and international practice, "China Development Report 2008" depicts a vital picture of development social welfare system for all to be established in China in 2020.
On September 25, 2007, CDRF published its book “China Development Report 2007- the Elimination of Poverty through Development”. This book addresses the theme of poverty. CDRF organized the Chinese renowned experts on poverty issue - Wang Xiaolu, Li Shi and Wang Sangui, and spent one and half years to accomplish it.
The 2007 China Development Report briefly describes the history and status quo of the poverty issue in China, introduces other countries’ experiences in poverty alleviation, analyses the characteristics of poverty in China today and the various reasons behind it, reviews and assesses various poverty alleviation policies in China and their effects, studies governmental practices in anti-poverty work, and puts forward multiple suggestions for policy makers based on data and analysis. Among these various suggestions, the ones regarding improvement of poverty line standard and the set-up of development poverty line attached great importance to the related departments.
"China Human Development Report 2005" with the themes of Development with Equity, is cooperated and coauthored by UNDP and CDRF. Since the initiation of the project, CDRF has made active endeavors.
October 2005, "China Human Development Report 2005" was published. This is also the first national human development report wholly written by chinese scholars. The report primarily depicted and analyzed the blueprint of current condition of human development and equity.
