The Symposium on Mobilizing Private Capital in the Market Reform of China’s Public Service Sector was held in Beijing

On April 11, 2016, the Symposium on Mobilizing Private Capital in the Market Reform of China’s Public Service Sector  and the Launch of Reports hosted by the CDRF was held in Beijing. Nearly 100 representatives from government departments, universities, enterprises, research institutions and media outlets attended the symposium.

        At the meeting, experts from the Development Research Center of the State Council, Ministry of Finance, Policy Research Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing Jiaotong University and E20 Environmental Platform experts introduced market-oriented reforms of the public service sector, international experience in the application of the PPP model, domestic PPP pilot projects and evaluation, and how to use the PPP model to promote market-oriented reforms in rail transportation, waste disposal, urban water, housing security and other areas. The experts also exchanged views on the common and noticeable problems in the process of promoting PPPs in different fields. They also discussed how to release the potential of private investment, to innovate the investment and financing system, to ease local debt pressure to change government functions, and to promote the modernization of state governance, steady growth and reforms through PPPs.
